Once a year Sean joins his friend and fellow timber-framer Shannon McIntyre to teach a 6-day timberframe course at the Yestermorrow Design Build School, which is located in Warren, Vermont. This year’s project was a 14’x18′ cabin for the The Vermont River Conservancy; the cabin will be located at a confluence on the Nulhegan River in East Bloomfield, VT and available for public use.
Piecemeal Pies – Tile Floor
A friend of mine, Justin Barrett, recently opened his pie shop, Piecemeal Pies, in downtown White River Junction, VT. As with many small business start-ups, there were many people who contributed to the endeavor. Justin asked me to help him with tiling the area in front of the service counter and I gladly obliged. We installed Schluter Ditra underlayment below the tiles and thin-set mortar.
Honestly this post is more a plug for Justin’s pie shop than my tiling skills; if you ever find yourself in the Upper Valley area and have an interest in British meat (& vegetable) pies and/or delicious local food, then stopping here is a must. A man of many talents, Justin also developed the floor plan and interior design of the space.
